Overview: Largo Winczlav is a yugoslavian orphan, adopted in secret by Nerio Winch to lead his business empire when he dies. After the murder of his adopted father the young orphan is propelled to the head of the Group W, Nerios' business empire and becomes one of the most wealthy people in the world overnight.

No family, no connections, anti-establishment, womanizer, wanderer, iconoclast and fighter, he inherits at age 26 the W Group, which is worth $10 billion.

Largo Winch is a Belgian comic book series by Philippe Francq and Jean Van Hamme, published by Dupuis. Largo Winch started as a series of novels by Jean Van Hamme in the late 1970's, but stopped due to a lack of success and the huge amount of work Van Hamme had in the meantime with other comic books (e.g. XIII). When Francq wanted to start a series with Van Hamme, he revived his old hero, and reworked the novels into the first albums of the comic series. Later, new stories followed.

Largo Winch is een Belgische stripreeks van Philippe Francq (tekenaar) en Jean Van Hamme (scenarist). De reeks werd voor het eerst uitgegeven in 1990 en is gebaseerd op de gelijknamige romanreeks van Jean Van Hamme. Het hoofdpersonage van deze stripreeks heet Largo Winch.

Largo Winch 13 Cold Black Sea (2014)

Fresh from his old pilot Freddy’s wedding, Largo is back in New York for more celebrating – the departure of one of his employees. But during the party, a Turkish national permanently retires Sir Basil with a couple of bullets. Shortly thereafter, the shooter himself is killed by a sniper before he’s had a chance to say a word. When the FBI finally gets involved, they come with accusations of gun trafficking and hiring assassins… Accusations levelled at Largo himself!

Largo is stuck on a boat with Silky. But this isn’t the end of a James Bond story: the vessel’s a container ship that belongs to Winch’s enemy, a Georgian arms dealer who seems to be behind all the billionaire’s current problems. And the crew are armed and trigger-happy… Not entirely surprising, since this time the plot is not just about money – it’s also very personal! Poor Largo; things were so much simpler before he stopped being an orphan…

Largo is in London for a board meeting with his group’s various CEOs. At the same time, he’s negotiating with a French aeronautics firm for a deal based upon a ground breaking new technology.
