When a wealthy widow suddenly dies of a heart attack, Fortune smells foul play and Swamp Team 3 springs into action, but before they can figure out who the murderer is, they must first prove the victim did not die of natural causes. Fortune, Ida Bell and Gertie run into roadblock after roadblock before they receive help from an unexpected source. The victim's highly eccentric brother and sister arrive in Sinful with their own suspicions and a very special set of skills. A Blooming Fortune is filled with twists and turns as Fortune and her new friends work to unravel the mystery.
#5 - The Fish Bomb Caper
It's a stinky situation in Sinful. A box of rotten fish is placed under Celia's car and a highly illegal device explodes, totaling the car. Gertie was seen in the area but says she didn't do it, but only Fortune and Ida Belle believe her and there are no other suspects. The Swamp Team Three has to solve the crime in forty-eight hours before Gertie is arrested and faces a five-year prison sentence.
#6 - The Body in Witch Elm
There's bad news in Sinful. Gertie has a new gentleman friend and Ida Belle doesn't like him. That's not the only bad news. The skeletal remains of a young woman are discovered in the hollow of a two-hundred-year-old elm tree. When the state investigation stalls, Swamp Team 3 jumps into action. There's no shortage of seedy suspects but solving the case proves challenging. As Fortune draws close to the truth, certain interested parties lash out, putting the lives of our three heroes in peril. That's when the fireworks really begin.
