Book #1 - The Promise
An army vet with a prosthetic leg and CTE, a barista, and a middle-aged man with Down's syndrome come together in the zombie apocalypse.

Army veteran Lee Riker is staying in an Atlanta shelter and supporting himself with the odd carpentry job when his sister, Tara, summons him home to Middletown, Indiana for the reading of their mother’s will. Hopeful that the unknown sum of money included in his portion of the inheritance will be sufficient to bring an end to his latest run of bad luck and trouble, Riker boards a Greyhound bus in Atlanta with his duffel bag, less than two hundred dollars to his name, and a secret he must protect at all costs. Riker makes it to Middletown only to learn his sister has recently witnessed a gruesome death. Insisting she saw the victim rise from a pool of his own blood to attack the Samaritan rendering aid, Tara floats the idea that the man may have been a zombie. While the siblings are comparing what Tara thinks she saw to the conflicting stories about the event being reported on the news, the emergency broadcast system is activated and they find themselves under order to report to one of three newly established quarantine centers. With this unexpected turn of events looming over their heads, and as a result the reading of the will likely postponed indefinitely, Riker informs Tara of the promise he made to their mother on her deathbed months ago. A promise whose details leave Tara nearly as confused as those of the grisly attack haunting her every thought. A promise that Riker insists is worth ignoring the government edict in order to fulfill. A promise that requires the Rikers to leave town even as shadowy forces seek to seal it off from the rest of the country—a tall order they soon learn will be easier said than done.

Following their flight from zombie-infested New York and flush with cash from a recent inheritance, Army veteran Lee Riker and his sister Tara are holed up with their new friend Steve-O in a multimillion-dollar Miami Beach waterside mansion.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
Having witnessed firsthand the emergence of a virus that brings the newly dead back to life and hungry for human flesh, the trio are holding out hope the government will sterilize the flashpoints of infection and eventually achieve full containment of what the Centers for Disease Control are reporting as the fastest spreading virus mankind has ever seen.
But hopes are quickly dashed and worst fears are realized when the aptly named Romero virus shows up on their doorstep, forcing them to flee the tropical paradise with little more than the clothes on their backs and a semblance of a plan.
A plan whose few firm details Tara is afraid to divulge lest doing so jinx it for them all.
A plan Riker knows from experience will likely not survive first contact with the enemy.
A plan that will require teamwork and a whole lot of luck if they are going to survive to see it through.
Book #3 - The Precipice
With the zombie apocalypse in full swing, Army veteran Lee Riker, his younger sister Tara, and their new friend, Steven “Steve-O” Piontek survive a grueling two-thousand-mile trek from the shores of Florida to the deserts of New Mexico. After outfoxing the National Guard and staying ahead of a rolling shutdown that began in New York and swept across the country at a dizzying pace, Riker’s band finally make it to their ultimate destination only to come face to face with true evil.
Days have passed and Lee Riker has a date with the court. When he calls to confirm, he gets a recording: “You have reached Santa Fe Police and Fire. Shelter-in-place order is in effect for Santa Fe proper and the surrounding communities.” Before ending the call, he hears five words that at once chill him to the bone and confirm to him the city and its first responders have fallen to the walking dead: “You are on your own.”
With fuel and food running dangerously low, and yet another promise that needs fulfilling, Riker leads a small group of survivors into the belly of the beast.
Meanwhile, at Trinity House, their home in the hills outside of Santa Fe, Tara unearths a secret that’s been hiding in plain sight for nearly three decades.
As Riker and company fight to make it out of the city alive, a deed from his past sets into motion a chain of events that, by the end of the day, may lead to one or more of the survivors ending up dead—or worse: undead.
With the United States and the rest of the world in the grip of the zombie apocalypse, will Riker find the answers he seeks?

After a deadly encounter with survivors looking to settle a score, a skirmish that left some of the Trinity group nursing new wounds—physical and mental—cracks are beginning to show in their fragile alliance.
While part of the group is off foraging for supplies in the Santa Fe suburbs, one member is scouring the airwaves with Trinity’s long-range communications gear. Searching for answers to a question she has yet to divulge to even those closest to her, Lia instead intercepts a plea for help she finds impossible to ignore.
As Lia lobbies the others to accompany her on a rescue mission, another member discovers in the bunker beneath Trinity a map marked with mysterious symbols. Believing the symbols denote sites that may contain supplies necessary to ride out winter, several members volunteer to accompany Lia on a mission they hope will kill two birds with one stone.
Will the group cover the hundreds of miles of zombie infested southwest desert in time to help the person in distress?
Will the map prove to be boon or bust?
Will Lia’s one burning question finally be answered?
With danger lurking around every corner, will the group allow their differences to draw them even further apart, or will they get over themselves long enough to survive one more day in the zombie apocalypse?

After issuing orders to have low-yield nuclear weapons deployed against the rapidly merging zombie mega-herds, the President of the United States, holed up in Raven Rock Mountain Complex in Pennsylvania with the remnants of his cabinet, inexplicably goes dark. With the Pentagon abandoned weeks prior and no Joint Chiefs of Staff left alive to guide the fractured military, the Ronin Protocol, a component of the government’s end-of-the-world Continuity of Operations Plan, is automatically enacted.
Following a harrowing journey from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Las Vegas, Nevada to answer a long-distance plea for help, Army veteran Lee Riker, his younger sister Tara, Steven “Steve-O” Piontek, and their Trinity House companions are offered sanctuary from the undead hordes inside Frenchman Mountain Complex—a relic of the Cold War.
When the commander of Frenchman Mountain Complex informs Riker of his intention to move the entire operation to a top-secret military base whose location he won’t divulge, and conscripts Riker to be his personal driver, Riker gathers the others and they immediately begin planning their escape.
With tons of rock over their heads and steel blast doors standing between them and freedom, will our group ever again see the light of day?
If they somehow manage to escape the secure bunker, standing between them and the safety of Trinity House are hundreds of miles of zombie-infested southwest desert, factions of splintered military reported to be fighting each other over territory, and scattered pockets of humanity trying to protect their own turf.
