Trevor's short stories and poems have frequently won prizes, and he has appeared on television, discussing local matters. In the 1980s, his research doctorate pioneered the use of computers in the education of children with profound learning difficulties. His career included 14 years at the classroom chalkface; 16 as headteacher of a special school; and 16 as an Ofsted school inspector.

01 Foundling

Discovered in the remote forest swamp, the tall, powerfully-built stranger has seemingly appeared from nowhere...
Badly injured and speaking an unknown language, he has no memory of who or what he is; or where he is from. Named as “Kyre”, he is dragged away, and forced to fight for his life. By sheer speed and violence, he defeats the sword-wielding patrol that found him.
The troopers’ captain and a young woman member of a clandestine sisterhood each decide he could be valuable for their own purposes. They conspire with and against each other to make use of this apparent Pit-born savage. Despite being compelled to fight in the arena, and then to train a group of aristocratic young men and women to fight, his injuries begin to heal. As his skills develop, he becomes the brutal enforcer for the sisterhood.
While the schemes of the Sisterhood, the army commanders, and the Realm Lord start to unravel in the face of unforeseen realm-wide events, his own thoughts of purpose and destiny begin to take shape...
The Lordlands Realm will never be the same again.
02 Lord Of Tyre
As Kyre leaves behind the carnage at Gladeton Falls, what might await him at the border of the Lordlands realm?
There lies the Free Port and Town of Buckington, not belonging of any realm, but owing debts to Kyre's senders - The Sisterhood of the Rua.
Will he collect the debt in silver or blood? And stay to rule? Or continue on to seek the Realm of Coasts and Isles where his dreams lie?
Or yet, again, as the new Lord of Tyre, should he turn aside and make the trek to the plateau and canyonlands that are now expected to see him as Lord?
Whichever route he takes, will his strengths grow and change? and will his thoughts of power and conflict drag more in his wake?
Does he decide on his own paths? or do others bend and push him? or is there some greater destiny awaiting him?
03 So Bleeds the River
Hated and feared by many; loved and admired by others, Kyre - The Foundling - struggles to find where his destiny lies in the Lordlands Realm.
Leaving behind the bloodshed in the Canyons of Tyre, Lordstown beckons, with its promises of treachery and disappointment.
There, his inner compulsions drive the solitary warrior back to the grasp and control of the Sisterhood, and the clutches of the Lord's family.
Compelled to carry out the bidding of some, and choosing other ways of his own, Kyre treads his blood-spattered path to the further reaches of the Lazy River.
To other realms he ventures, and they come seeking him, in vicious bands of river pirates and hill bandits; and in organised troops of realmish soldiery intent on stealthy invasion.
And yet, among the pain and carnage, Kyre walks high and proud.
Coveting his lovers and friends as his powers grow, his thoughts of a higher destiny grow deeper, and the Realms begin to change about him…
