A Shining Light
Magic has never been popular in the Triple Cities. Locals see wizards as crusty, misanthropic tyrants with poor hygiene, and often for good reason. The wizards, meanwhile, see the Triple Cities as a godless, irresponsible place who may one day doom all humanity. Possibly for good reason too. So it has been for centuries. Enter, however, Calli Brenton, a charismatic young sorcerer determined to unite warring factions together and bring forth a new golden age. Not surprisingly, someone is trying to kill her.
The job of keeping her alive is given to Tomas Kenner, the government's reluctant special agent. It seems to be a straightforward case. As tends to be the case with Kenner's missions, though, nothing is as simple as it first seems. Soon he is starting to unearth dark secrets and wondering if Calli Brenton is quite as innocent as she seems...
