3. Vega - After the so-called success of his mission to Madrevaria, Kris finds himself back home, aimless and alone. A shocking and unexpected loss spurs him into action, and he soon tackles a hostage situation at the Aljarrian consulate, earning frontpage coverage as a masked vigilante in the process.
Forced onto a shorter leash by his CIA watchers, Kris is taken to Washington DC, but the trip is far from being the rest and relaxation he needed. A chance meeting with a congressperson ensues, a meeting that results in tragic and horrifying consequences…
It’s soon revealed that Vega has a massive secret – a deadly, terrible secret Kris is only now painfully aware of – along with the troubling realization that there’s truly no going back now. He’ll learn the reason Vega came here, to this place and to this time, or he’ll die trying…

Working in deepest Asia, in the most physically punishing, mentally exhausting jobs he can find, he’s dragged out of the shadows by news of an alleged real-life vampire: a serial attacker, praying on victims late at night, and draining their blood.

Through hails of bullets and high-stakes poker, Kris finds himself drawn to the war-torn African nation of Nubalaya. There, he’s tasked with finding and capturing a fearsome rebel warlord, a man accused of the most heinous crimes, and believed by his enemies to possess supernatural strength.
Deep within the remorseless African wilderness, Kris will come to confront the so-called warlord, only to discover he's quite unlike any foe he's ever encountered…

Their most fruitful lead takes them to Colorado, where a devoted follower – a so-called disciple – is incarcerated in supermax federal prison. With no other options, Kris sneaks into the prison, intending to speak to him man-to-man.
He soon hears tales of a formerly paralyzed conman, blessed with the miraculous ability to walk again and superhuman powers. A man who inspires perfect loyalty from his followers, and the shamelessness to call himself the Second Coming.
But is he really an incarnation of a god? Is he an immortal, avenging angel, sent to rally the meek and purge society’s evildoers, or is he still the same con man he always was?
