4 Pride and Prejudice Variations by Emily Russell
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.1 MB
Overview: Emily F Russell is a young woman, her origins vaguely south of the Mason-Dixon line. She is in her twenties somewhere, doesn't make much money, and is, really, altogether uninteresting save for her book, which you should probably buy, because it's funny. Emily makes many grandiose statements on the internet, but when truth is told, she mostly just knows how to write, which is good, because she sure isn't getting a degree in applied physics any time soon.

Emily is friendly but painfully shy, and she likes hearing from you. Drop her a line, she only bites when she's off the meds.

Disruption at Pemberley
Travelling through Pemberley Woods at night after exploring the Peak District with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner, Elizabeth Bennet is relieved to know Mr Darcy is away from his estate. Ever since she harshly rejected his proposal of marriage months earlier, she has dreaded seeing him again. How could she have been so wrong about him? How could she ever look him in the face, knowing how badly she misjudged him?
Elizabeth and the Gardiners are not the only ones taking advantage of the master's absence. While travelling through the woods, their carriage is held up by three highwaymen who have been terrorising the countryside. In the scuffle, her uncle is injured, and Elizabeth is almost taken with them before they are saved by the last person she expected to see.
Fitzwilliam Darcy has struggled to overcome his feelings for Elizabeth Bennet. Ever since she rejected his proposal of marriage and made it clear how much she disliked him, he sought to put her from his mind. His only comfort is if he ever did see her again, he might prove himself a better man than the one she believed him to be.
Needing to return home to Pemberley earlier than anticipated, he takes a shortcut through the woods at night only to come across a carriage being held up by a gang of highwaymen. He intercepts and chases the thieves away. On his return, he is startled to find the woman he never thought to see again.

Darcy and Elizabeth put aside their emotions at seeing one another and agree that Elizabeth's uncle should be taken to Pemberley to receive care. Forced to live under the same roof, Darcy and Elizabeth finally have a chance to face their true feelings for one another and see if the wrongs of the past can be overcome. Can Darcy prove to her that he has changed from the man she thought him to be? And is Elizabeth still dear enough to him that he can overcome his hurt pride at her rejection?
Their growing closeness is disrupted when one of the highwaymen is captured and reveals information that forces Darcy and Elizabeth to make a decision about their relationship. And an old enemy from the past threatens to ruin everything that has been growing between them.

Longbourn's Distinguished Guest
Elizabeth Bennet had been warned about the importance of returning home early from her woodland ramble to attend the Meryton assembly where her family would meet their wealthy new neighbour, Mr Bingley. Absorbed in her book, she lost track of the hour and is obliged to run home through the dim woods before she is too late.
Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberley has been feeling unwell for several days. Only his promise to his friend Bingley forces him to ride out from London to Hertfordshire where he is to assist him with the running of his new estate. But as he rides through the dark woods towards Netherfield, his illness finally overtakes him and he falls unconscious from his horse.
Elizabeth is shocked to find him and with the help of her father, takes the young man home to Longbourn where she nurses him through his illness. He is too weak to be removed to Netherfield and is obliged to remain under the Bennets' care, much to the anger of Mr Bingley's ambitious sister, Caroline Bingley, who has her sights set on becoming Mrs Darcy.
As Elizabeth and Darcy grow closer, rumours spread through the small town of Meryton about a marriage between the two. Elizabeth attempts to quash the rumours, but trouble starts when they reach the wrong ears and soon, the jealousy of others threaten to tear the two apart.

Through Pemberley Woods
When Elizabeth Bennet is offered the chance to spend a summer in Aunt Gardiner’s hometown of Lambton in Derbyshire, she jumps at the opportunity. Weeks of tramping through woods and peaks while being free of her mother’s obsession with finding her a husband - what could be more perfect. But on her first day exploring Pemberley Woods, she has an unpleasant encounter with the arrogant master of Pemberley, Mr Darcy. Angry and offended when he orders her from his lands, she resolves to forget him.
Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberley has received troubling reports of a thief who has been terrorising his tenants in Pemberley Woods. He returns from London earlier than he planned to find the culprit, but his search is interrupted by a young lady with sparkling eyes and a lively wit. Immediately drawn to her but horrified to think what might have happened if she’d encountered the thief while wandering through his lands alone, he orders her from the woods with more harshness than he intended.
Elizabeth soon makes a new friend in Lambton; a shy young girl who turns out to be none other than Georgiana Darcy, the younger sister of the arrogant Mr Darcy. Elizabeth is determined her unpleasant brother should not come between them and the two girls form a firm friendship. But as Elizabeth spends more time with the Darcys, she comes to realise there is more to Darcy than the aloof, haughty man she believed him to be. And the more Darcy is in her presence, the more bewitched he is and the more he struggles with his family’s desire that he marry a woman of high standing.
Their summer is threatened when Georgiana’s manipulative and controlling companion, Mrs Younge, determines to take Georgiana away to the seaside resort of Ramsgate despite Georgiana’s reluctance. When Georgiana resolves to stay in Derbyshire with Darcy and Elizabeth, Mrs Younge must change her plan and invites a former friend of the Darcys to Derbyshire whom Darcy hoped never to see again.
When Darcy’s old enemy returns to Derbyshire, his presence threatens to destroy Georgiana's life. Elizabeth and Darcy must put themselves at risk to save the girl they both love from a man who is determined to avenge himself on his former family. And Elizabeth comes to the painful realisation that even friends are not always what they seem.

But For Loving Her Still
A failed marriage proposal, a disgraced sister, and now Elizabeth and Darcy must work together if they are to save her family from ruin.

Elizabeth Bennet believes allowing Lydia to travel to Brighton is a huge mistake, especially when the untrustworthy George Wickham will be present. At least Elizabeth can look forward to a summer tour of Derbyshire with her aunt and uncle, where she can forget about men and marriage for a while.

Fitzwilliam Darcy never expected to see Elizabeth Bennet again after she rejected him, but when he meets her at Pemberley, his old hopes and wishes are immediately rekindled. And, as Elizabeth finds her heart turning more and more toward Mr. Darcy, she begins to hope that the once proud man might renew his addresses.

But a letter from Longbourn proves Elizabeth’s fears true; Lydia has disappeared with Mr. Wickham, and her family is in disgrace.

When Elizabeth receives a secret note telling her to bring a valuable object to Wickham if she hopes to see her sister again, Elizabeth has no choice but to leave Longbourn at once, where she encounters Mr. Darcy, who has also been searching for the missing couple. Together, they travel to find Wickham so they can bring Lydia home.

But Wickham is not the only one who wants the object. There are others who will do anything to get their hands on it, and they are far more treacherous than he is. And if they succeed, any chance of Darcy and Elizabeth having a future together will be destroyed.
