I couldn’t put the book down, yet at the same time I did not race through it, for the dialogue is excellent, and the old captain's fanaticism fascinating. I would have liked 500 more pages, yet I do believe that much of the charm of the book is due to its brevity. I vote for 'The Captain' 100 per cent”.
