The book contains contemporary writing that reflects a diversity in emerging and established Canadian writers, including Gregory Betts, K’ari Fisher, Matthew R. Loney, Helen Marshall, George McWhirter, Susan P. Redmayne, Linda Rogers, Leon Rooke, Madelaine Sonik, and Erin Soros. Following the stories are biographies of each contributor.

Gloria Vanderbilt is an actress, an artist, a fashion designer, and the sponsor of the Vanderbilt/Exile Short Fiction Competition. She is the author of memoirs and novels that include A Mother's Story, It Seemed Important at the Time, Obsession, and The Things We Fear Most and has contributed to Elle, the New York Times, and Vanity Fair. She lives in New York City.
